On Sunday 29 May Woodside Primary School will host the inaugural Community Car Boot Sale and Local Traders Fair: four hours of world food, live music, art, competitions, vintage clothes and much more.

The school has teamed up with independent gift shop Ryan and Westover to organise the event, which is the first of its kind and is likely to become a monthly fixture.

The fair is set to integrate the community while encouraging people to Wood Street to enjoy the delights of the indoor markets.

Many of the shops from the Georgian and Wood Street markets will be holding stalls on the day, such as vintage clothes from Caroline Cox, Gigi’s Dressing Room, Jimmy Mack and Valerie’s Couture. Plus there’s art and things for the home from Mr Grey, and antique treasures from Winston Rose Jewellery.

While this is going on, Mikel Krumins and the Lunar Waves will perform live music and Karma 1to1 will host a meditation and crystal workshop.

There’ll also be an art and philosophy stall with Frida Plato for children aged 7+ and Wadham Lodge FC will be holding football activities on the site.

Lunch and treats will be catered for by St Bess’s Caribbean food while Tegan the Vegan will be selling some of her acclaimed cruelty-free cakes and savoury dishes.
