Waltham Forest council issued a statement last night pledging it will do everything it can to ensure no one feels alone, scared or victimised in the borough.
‘One Community’ celebrates the borough’s diversity and promotes tolerance and togetherness, and condemns all form of hatred.
Waltham Forest has long been known for its sense of community – a community which stands out for its diversity, but one that stands together.
Residents from all walks of life, cultures and countries call our borough home, and we want to ensure this is a place where everyone can enjoy a quality life.
Our sense of community and of belonging, and the need to always treat others with respect, helps to make this such a great place to live, work and visit.
Hatred has no place here. Our community utterly condemns it and will always work together so that no-one feels victimised, scared or alone.
Those who would seek to divide us, to persecute us or attack us, will always fail. Waltham Forest is one community – tolerant and together.
